I’m Dennis B. Litman II, and my story is deeply intertwined with the roots of the Altadena-Pasadena community. Four generations of my family have called this unique place home, shaping not just the neighborhoods, but the values I treasure most: trust, dedication and the pride of honest craftsmanship.

 

My journey began at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, but my true awakening came from the sawdust and sunlight of childhood afternoons. I was a dreamer with a box of nails and a handful of scrap wood, building tree houses, skateboard ramps and wooden go-carts that raced down Santa Rosa’s steep hills with friends laughing by my side. Those early adventures weren’t just play; they taught me the wonder of building something with my own hands and the joy of sharing it with others.

     

The legacy I carry forward started with my great grandfather, a carpenter whose hands shaped many of Altadena’s earliest homes in the 1900’s. His vision and craftsmanship laid foundations that still stand strong today, and I am honored to follow in those footsteps. As the third generation to graduate from John Muir High School, I feel a deep responsibility to continue uplifting our community, both through my work and my values.

 

My professional path in construction began humbly in the summer of 1984- digging trenches and footings for a commercial project near Elysian Park just outside of Downtown Los Angeles. That summer, I discovered not only the meaning of honest labor but also my calling. Since then, my work has brought me from the sunlit coasts of Mexico to the forests of Washington, the islands of Hawaii and the wide landscapes of Texas-each custom home a new story, each client’s dream a new challenge.

 

For over 35 years, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with remarkable professionals- craftspeople and creatives whose passion and insight push me to new heights. Their influence has helped me become not just a builder, but a thoughtful designer, a problem-solver and a lifelong learner. Together my team and I have tackled projects of every scale, often exceeding even our own expectations, but always guided by integrity and an “outside the box” approach.

 

At the heart of my work is a simple, unwavering belief: everyone deserves a home that reflects their dreams, values and unique story. The gratitude and trust of those I’ve worked with inspire me every day. There’s nothing more fulfilling than handing over the keys to a home built with care, creativity and a deep commitment to quality.
